Tidelines Institute

At Tidelines Institute, we’re all about experiential education. We bring students out of the classroom and into the wildest edge of North America. At our twin campuses – one on the remote Inian Islands, the other along the Good River in Gustavus – we run a gap year, short courses, and community workshops. This is living-learning like no other: we fillet fresh-caught salmon, gather data on our changing ecosystems, have campfire discussions of John Muir and Rachel Carson, or learn how to build an earth-oven or do field sketching. We hope our students walk away transformed, and empowered to tackle global challenges, from civic fracture to climate change.

Join us for one of our community workshops, or get in touch to learn about student courses, internships, and volunteer opportunities.
