Please check open hours and days carefully and make advance plans. Websites offer more information, menus, hours of operation and days open.

Year round food: both Sunnyside Eatery and the Fireweed Gallery Coffee and Tea House, offer an array of foods, both are centrally located. Or you can stop by the Higher Grounds Coffee Shop at the airport, inside Alaska Seaplanes and grab a sandwich or donut.

Wild harvest on the beach and Nature Conservancy and State lands are for all to enjoy; pick wild strawberries, blueberries, and mushrooms, cast a line in the river by the small boat harbor, Salmon River Park or ocean and bring in a fish. Locals value this as a way of life and the abundance of Gustavus is part of the rich local heritage and homestead way. Gardening is popular in Gustavus.
